Refresh. Rebuild. Re-enter. A Government-backed recruitment and training service, led by Reed in Partnership, has seen thousands of highly skilled and work ready candidates mobilised into a host of manufacturing roles across the UK at an average rate of one brand new job start every day at firms across the UK.
Skilled candidates have been successfully matched and recruited at a wide range of organisations across the country, including: Prestige recruitment – Swizzles Matlow, Clipper Logistics, Central Medical Supplies Ltd, Fox’s Biscuits and Next Warehouse.
The fully funded ‘Work and Health Programme: Job Entry Targeted Support’ (WHP JETS) scheme which launched in October 2020 is delivered by Reed in Partnership’s experienced team of manufacturing and operations recruitment specialists across the North East, Yorkshire and areas of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and is proving to represent huge cost savings for businesses with their dynamic and proactive approach to recruitment.
Following the UK unemployment surge due to the Covid-19 pandemic which saw a high number of skilled workers without jobs, the WHP JETS scheme was formed and has been collaborating with businesses to source work-ready talent, bringing the right people to roles across the manufacturing sector.
Nicola Whelan, head of delivery support at Reed in Partnership said: “Our dynamic team have a wealth of recruitment experience in the sector and have been working with employers of all sizes with great success over the last few months to secure thousands of job starts.
“The individuals we are supporting through the scheme are highly skilled and we have bolstered their existing competencies with the latest relevant industry-backed training to ensure that they are ready to hit the ground running and make a positive contribution to the business.”
A stepped process ensures businesses and individuals alike are supported to achieve their potential. Close consultation between the WHP JETS team and each business establishes objectives and growth needs to ensure the best recruitment solution.
Highly skilled operatives, team leaders and technical staff have benefited from a refresh of the latest relevant industry-backed training which enhances candidates existing competencies. Running alongside core training and industry skills, the team also work to rebuild confidence following former job loss/redundancy. WHP JETS believe the ethos of being ready to work is much more than a need; it’s a want and reinvigorating the excitement in candidates and employers alike is key to inspire and secure a role that fits the individual’s passions and expertise.
Screening, interviewing, induction and tailored training programmes are also provided at no cost to the recruiting organisation. The result, employees who are truly work ready, fully skilled and committed to re-enter the workplace and make a strong impact on the business.
The WHP JETS fully funded scheme represents a huge cost saving for companies who could otherwise spend on average of £4,500 on a recruitment agency, not only is the scheme cost-free to businesses it’s also an opportunity to support local communities and those who have found themselves out of work due to Covid-19.
